GSI Cheat Sheet: Preseason - Volume I

22. July 2008  - Published by Dan Clasgens

After careful deliberation, we are ready to release the first edition of the GSI.com Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet for 2008:

It comes as no surprise that after their record-setting 2007 that both Tom Brady and Randy Moss find themselves atop their respective positions.  However, running back isn't as clear cut. LaDainain Tomlinson gets the nod in yearly leagues and formats that heavily favor receptions, but for those of you in dynasty leagues Adrian Peterson makes for a better pick.

There are some surprises perhaps at some of the other positions where Jason Witten, the Vikings DEF, and Nick Folk top our list.

I would put Housh in the top 10 over Chad, personally. He is an all around better WR and targeted more.

Honestly, I expect TJ's targets to drop this year with the addition on Ben Utecht and a healthy Chris Perry. In addition, if the Bengals are going to be successful they are going to have run the ball more. If all goes well TJ goes from 112 receptions to something closer to 75 to 80 catches. That makes him a strong No. 2 wideout, but not a true No. 1 fantasy receiver. Just my take.

I like the rankings...but I think Westbrook should be the #3 guy on the RB rankings, followed by Addai and then Jackson. But that's just me throwing in my two cents.

i've wondered many times if i should keep Westbrook or Jackson since i can only keep one.  keep in mind, i'll have that player for the next 4 years as a "franchise player".  so i lean towards Jackson.

That is definitely a tough call, but Jackson is nearly four years younger and seems to be more durable. Don’t give me wrong I love Westbrook, especially in reception and yardage formats, but Jackson is almost as good there and should get 70-80 more carries. This is an easy one, keep Jackson.
