Horse racing officials ended months of speculation Wednesday when
they announced the Breeders' Cup World Championships would indeed
return to Churchill Downs in 2010.
Churchill Downs has hosted the Breeders' Cup a record six times with the most recent edition coming in 2006.
The 2010 Breeders' Cup will mark the first Churchill has hosted under the current two-day format.
"We are delighted to be returning the Breeders’ Cup to Churchill Downs
and to our great supporters in Kentucky and throughout the region,”
Breeders’ Cup Chairman William S. Farish Jr. said in a news release.
