Golf Is Such A Wuss Sport

15. February 2009  - Published by Bret Sims

It is bad enough that professional golfers don't carry their own clubs or that you have to be silent when they are teeing off or making a putt because they don't have the mental ability to tune out a crowd.

Now the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am has been postponed and may not even be completed depending on the weather on Monday.

I understand not playing golf when there is lightening in the area because they are holding a metal rod but the weather conditions that stopped play today are embarrassing and pathetic.

Apparently the tough guys can't play in the rain or in wind that is blowing 20 to 30mph.  God forbid that they actually have to overcome weather conditions that test how good they really are.

The more I see of golf the more I'm convinced it originated in France and not Scotland.

Bret, they play in bad weather sometimes, but it's more up to the course owner and their input. At the Pebble Beach course, they almost never get rain, so their course is not equipped to handle people tearing up the course in soggy conditions. That's what it was about more than anything. And what say you about baseball then? Those guys stop playing in rain all the time. Are they soft too?
And, I'd say that Tiger Woods could beat you in any sport of your choice because he's that athletic. Now, he's the exception, but he's certainly not soft. Especially since he won a major tournament with a torn ACL.

It is still a wuss sport regardless of your reasoning.  It addition, Tiger hasn't returned any of my calls to play me in a "Happy Gilmore" round of golf.
