Bengals: My Wish List

11. March 2009  - Published by Dan Clasgens

Aside from a new owner, any GM, and a few scouts I do have some players on Bengals wish list that still sit out there and realistic options:

LB Derrick Brooks (TB) - The soon-to-be 36-year old linebacker was cut last month by the Bucs after spending his entire career with the team. He indicated earlier this week that he wasn't planning on retirining just yet. It may only be a one-year fix but signing him not only gives the Bengals much-needed depth and more flexibility in next month's draft, it also brings the franchise the clubhouse and on-the-field leader it covets.

RT Mark Tauscher (GB) - This guy is underrated as they come. A former 7th round pick, he was forced into his starting role in Green Bay and never let it go. The Bengals need all the depth they can get and his price tag is in their range.

RB Aaron Stecker (NO) - Don't get me wrong, I did like the Cedric Benson signing. The best thing about it was the team risked little and did a mulit-year deal. While the running back job needs to be addressed long-term, it doesn't have to happen this year. Stecker is a perfect third-down back and is more than capable of delivering the catches out of the backfield that offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski's offense seems to relish with.
