Brett Favre From Hero To D-bag

6. May 2009  - Published by Jimmy Dinsmore

So here's a great article about one possible reason for Brett Favre to come out of retirement - revenge on Green Bay. Really? Revenge? This is the team that took on a chance on him, where the fans worshipped and where he won championships. So they had a changing of the guard and went with Aaron Rodgers after the old coot retired and then changed his mind (an ego-driven move we've since seen more than once now). This is the reason for you to come to the Vikings? For revenge.

I cannot remember a player who has fallen so far in my mind as Brett Favre. His image is tainted permanently in my mind. He would've been one of my all-time favorite players if he had just retired the first time. I was even willing to give him a chance to scratch the itch one more time with the Jets last year, although it was clear his skill set had diminished. If he comes back (for revenge or any other reason) to the Vikings, then he'll no longer be a hero to me, he'll just be a douche bag.

I am tired of the media coverage of it, but I don't see why people are getting so worked up. If the Vikings want him and he wants to play that is all that matters.

It's not that he might come back again it's his comments. He wants revenge on the Packers. For what? Making him a star? Giving him a chance? Paying him millions? Give me a break. He's just a dick now.

To come out of retirement just to exact a bit of revenge I have to say is a little sad.
