Marshall To Report To Camp

from the Denver Post...

Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall says he is committed to reporting to training camp on time.

But that's about as much detail as he would spill about his future in Denver in an interview Thursday with the NFL Network.

Marshall, who requested a trade in June, said he would show up in Denver by July 27, the reporting date for rookies and injured veterans, rather than forfeit any of his salary.

The Broncos could fine Marshall $15,888 per day that he fails to show up at Dove Valley. He already skipped the team's mandatory minicamp in June, allowing the Broncos to fine him up to $35,329.

"As of right now, I'm still under contract," Marshall said on the network's NFL Total Access show. "I have a wedding to prepare for, so I'm definitely going to show up. I'm not going to let them take no money."

FANTASY TAKE: Marshall has produced 206 receptions, 2,590 yards and 13 touchdowns over the past two seasons. However, the loss of Jay Cutler as his quarterback, his contract issues, and his track record off the field problems, he has slid out of my top 10 at wideout. He is the ultimate high-risk, high-reward player. But why take the risk too early when there are safer options? Throw in off-season hip surgery and there are simply too many red flags for my liking. Keep in mind, he's onlys cored six times a year ago and he's seen his yards per catch drop every year in his career. Look for that trend to continue with Kyle Orton throwing him the ball.
