MY PICKS: I was hoping to do better than LeRon McClain, but really he is my RB4 and though he won't be featured as much as he was in '08 you can expect to be the goalline back in Baltimore. I could easily see him putting him 8-10 TD's. Chris Chambers is overvalued by most and I am not that crazy about his outlook for the 2009 season. Still with the 123rd pick in the draft you can do much worse for your WR4. Already having Knowshon Moreno in the fold, I took Correll Buckhalter with the draft's third-to-last pick. He will provide nice insurance and could have value here in Josh McDaniels' system.

BEST VALUE PICKS: Domenik Hixon (chance to be Giants #1 WR); John Carlson (further evidence you can wait on a TE); Matt Hasselbeck (best backup taken in these rounds); Kevin Faulk (will be a factor in NE)

MOST LIKELY TO DISAPPOINT: Joey Galloway (too old to be counted on); Ricky Williams (expect to see a decreased role); Tyler Thigpen (drafting a backup as your backup not a smart move)

FINAL TAKE: The draft is over and the teams look pretty good. Rounds 10-12 are when most fill out their rosters with defenses, kickers (not included in this draft) and deep backups. I prefer to take younger players at this point rather than aging veterans. I skewed away from that a bit, but overall that is the best route to take. This is really the only point of your draft to begin to think about handcuffs.

Mark my words that Thigpen will be the starting QB in KC before the end of the season because Cassel will be injured due to the porous o-line.  What looks like a bad pick now could turn out to be a big deal and I will remind all of you about this when it happens.

Why would you bank on an injury in a draft?  This may be the only fantasy draft that will have Thigpen drafted.  He's not worth enough to waste a roster spot on for weeks banking on an injury to Cassel, who doesn't have amy history of injury.  (Granted, he's only started in the league for one year, but shouldn't there be a precedent before assuming?)

I guarantee you that Thigpen would have been there on the waiver wire to be picked up later in the year...granted, the depth for backup QBs is slim pickins, but you could have banked a better guess (I don't know, Mark Sanchez?  Matt Stafford?) this late and hope for a Matt Ryan-like rookie season rather than assume an injury is going to thrust Thigpen to the head of a middle-of-the-road offense.

I was happy to stop a run on defenses back at the end of round eight. I'm even happier to get the Vikings nearly 25 picks later. And the Titans were still on the board as well. Expect solid defenses to be available later than usual this year.

I don't want to beat a dead horse but in this case the horse is Bret so it's kind of fun. Even if Thigpen were to beat Cassel out of camp, I wouldn't want him starting for my fantasy team. He may end up being a serviceable backup but really should not be drafted this summer. Perhaps, the worst pick of the draft.

Thigpen is by far the worst pick of the draft and I agree with Wetzel about this may be the only draft where he goes.

Defenses are like tight ends. The biggest thing for you to consider is your league's scoring system. The Vikings were overrated and did not rank in the top 5 defenses in most formats last year despite their loads of talent. Meanwhile, the Titans lost Albert Haynesworth and a ton of their luster with him.

The Steelers and Ravens are Tier 1 defenses and like every other position, you can find value if you wait around with a Tier 2 player/group. Nice value, but don't tell me that you would rather have the Vikings or Titans over the Steelers. It is a preference, but my opinion is to take a Tier 1 defense or a Tier 2 tight end before going for a Tier 6 or 7 wideout or running back. At that point, depth is a crap shoot anyway. I WANT THE BEST REGULAR LINE-UP POSSIBLE!!!

Additionally, if (and who can disagree with the assertion) the Chiefs are so awful on o-line that Cassel gets killed why would you want an even worse QB running behind such a line? That is just bad logic. Admit that the pick was horrendous.

The other trend visible is the QB depth. Ridiculous that you could get a Matt Cassel, Eli Manning or Matt Hasselbeck in Round 11. Don't go early on a QB and just draft mid-tier QBs and play the matchups for a winning strategy and get the WR and RB early.

Also, while his motive was not pure (as he's a big Jets blowhard), kudos to Larry on his Jets defense pick. I think they are going to be a top 5 defense this year and will be passed on for the sexier chic picks of Baltimore, Pittsburgh, et. al. For a defense pick, it was a good one. And he was able to wait later to get it.

Truth be told I was in a hurry and didn't really pay attention to who I grabbed and then once I did I felt stupid so I tried to come up with some lame excuse.  Clearly Thigpen was a stupid pick.

I have been reading a lot on here and have picked up some great ideas. I am trying a couple of ideas at the moment.
