Vick Only Suspended Two Games

After meeting with commissioner Roger Goodell, Michael Vick learned that we would be suspended for the first two games of the season, meaning he can suit up for the Eagles starting in Week 3.

The commissioner clearly was dancing a tough line on this one and though I was personally in favor of no suspension for Vick, the two-game punishment is much ligther than the original five or six games that was anticipated.

Vick is under an intense microscope and the early reports are that he has been the ideal teammate and citizen in Philly. Still, there are many people not ready to forget the crimes that he committed.

"Hopefully we can have a success story here, which would be good for society in general," Goodell said. "He's realistic about the challenges ahead. And anxious to play football."

It is going to be interesting to see what type of role develops for Vick with the Eagles, but rest assured head coach Andy Reid is going to figure out a way to get him involved.
