The Bengals signed free agent LS/TE Clark Harris of Rutgers, who is classified as a first-year NFL player. Harris (6-5, 257) played in the last four games of 2008 for the Houston Texans, after spending most of '08 season on the Texans' practice squad. He was with the Texans in the 2009 preseason, was waived on Sept. 5, and was re-signed to the Texans practice squad on Sept. 30. He was released from the Texans practice squad last week (on Oct. 6). He first entered the NFL in 2007, as a seventh-round draft choice of Green Bay, and he spent time in ?07 on the Green Bay and Detroit practice squads.

The team also terminated the contract of LS/TE Brad St. Louis, releasing him to free agency. St. Louis is a 10th-year NFL player, having spent all his career with the Bengals. He played in this season's first five games. He was the Bengals' seventh-round selection in the 2000 draft.

Instead, he’s now tied with tight end Tony McGee at 117. But a total of six inaccurate snaps (mostly high) forced the Bengals to move on and has contributed to Graham’s two blocks this season on seven field-goal tries. St. Louis’ distinguished career of 10 years and 144 games came to an end Tuesday when the Bengals decided they could no longer afford the inconsistencies of his short snaps that took at least 11 points off the board this season.
