The Bengals saw their four-game winning streak come to end in a 28-17 home loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday. The team was out of sync on both sides of the ball and let the game slip away with a terrible second half. A bigger loss than the game is the fact that the NFL’s leader in sacks, Antwaan Odom, suffered a season-ending Achilles’ injury.
THE GOOD
Chad Ochocinco – Not only did No. 85 get his first 100-yard game in 19 tries and score a touchdown, he also made a crushing block to help open up Cedric Benson on his touchdown run.
Leon Hall – It’s not a good sign when a cornerback leads the team in tackles, but Hall managed to do just that in the loss, finishing with 10 tackles and a forced fumble. The former first-round pick is making great progress this season.
Kevin Huber – The rookie punter continues to be a bright spot on the team and had many great kicks with good direction on the ball. He punted seven times for an average of 41 yards per kick and a long of 58.
THE BAD
Injuries – In addition to losing Odom for the season, defensive lineman Domato Peko also suffered a knee injury. His status for Week 7 and beyond is unclear at this point.
Tight End Production – As if the drops weren’t bad enough, both Daniel Coats and J.P. Foschi lost a fumble on Sunday. The duo combined to catch five balls for 38 yards.
THE UGLY
Second Half Offense – After watching Shayne Graham drill a 50-yard field goal just before the half, the team was unable to put any points on the board after the break. Six second-half possessions resulted in three punts, two fumbles, and an interception.
QUOTE TO NOTE
"Cincinnati's tight ends. I'm sorry, Daniel Coats' hands are so bad he couldn't even catch a break." – Clark Judge, CBSSports.com
