10 Franchises That Should Move

8. November 2009  - Published by Dan Clasgens

AskMen.com looks at 10 sports franchises that should move:

 No.2 - Jacksonville Jaguars

Earlier this season, Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver told the Orlando Sentinel that he would consider moving some of his games south. “There's certainly the possibility that we would play some out-of-market games,” said Weaver. “If it happened, Orlando would be the best option and most reasonable location.”

The Jaguars reside in one of the NFL’s smallest TV markets, 29th among the 32 cities. The team’s season-ticket base has eroded from 42,000 to 25,000. Jacksonville Municipal Stadium has reduced its capacity from a maximum of 82,000 (with temporary seating) to 67,164 for home games.

Empty seats still remain. The team distributed just 46,520 tickets for its home opener. Weaver has conceded that none of his home games would sell out this season -- leaving those games blacked out on local TV. He has remained outwardly loyal to Jacksonville, but how long can the team go on like this?
