(1) Florida 27, Vanderbilt 3
Tim Tebow threw for 208 yards and a touchdown and ran for another score, as top-ranked Florida took a 27-3 win over Vanderbilt. Tebow completed 15-of-20 passes for the Gators (9-0, 7-0 SEC), who extended the nation's longest winning streak to 19 games. Jeffery Demps ran for 57 yards and a score on seven carries, while David Nelson had a TD catch in the victory. Florida has already clinched the SEC's East Division, while the Crimson Tide secured the West and a place in the conference title game earlier Saturday with a win over LSU.
(3) Alabama 24, (9) LSU 15
Greg McElroy threw a pair of touchdown passes, including a short completion that Julio Jones turned into a 73-yard game-winning score midway through the fourth, as third-ranked Alabama gutted out a crucial 24-15 win over ninth-ranked SEC rival LSU at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Mark Ingram was a workhorse with 144 yards on 22 carries to help offset a sometimes shaky performance by McElroy, who ended 19-of-34 for 276 yards with a pick and missed a series of potential big plays in the first half with inaccurate throws.
(4) Cincinnati 47, Connecticut 45
Zach Collaros threw for 480 yards and a score and ran for two more touchdowns, as fourth-ranked Cincinnati held on for a 47-45 win over Connecticut to stay undefeated. Collaros started in place of Tony Pike, who is still recovering from surgery on his non-throwing arm, for the third straight game and kept the Cincinnati offense rolling. He completed 29-of-37 passes and finished with 75 rushing yards on 13 carries for the Bearcats (9-0, 5-0 Big East), who totaled a school-record 711 yards of offense and matched the 1951 team for the best start in school history. Jordan Todman powered Connecticut (4-5, 1-4) with 162 yards and four TDs on 26 carries, as the team finished with 462 total yards. Zach Frazer ended with 261 yards and a score on 19-of-32 completions, but the Huskies missed a potential game-tying two-point conversion late in the fourth quarter and fell to their third consecutive loss.
Stanford 51, (7) Oregon 42
Toby Gerhart rushed for a school-record 223 yards and scored three times as Stanford shocked seventh-ranked Oregon, 51-42. Gerhart ran 38 times and eclipsed the Stanford record previously held by Jon Volpe, who had 220 in a 1988 game against Washington. Andrew Luck connected on 12-of-20 passes for 251 yards with a pair of scores for the Cardinal (6-3, 5-2 Pac-10), who built on a 33-14 home win over Arizona State two weeks ago.
Northwestern 17, (8) Iowa 10
Northwestern scored a pair of second-quarter touchdowns in a span of just over six minutes immediately following an injury to Iowa quarterback Ricky Stanzi, as the Wildcats pulled off a 17-10 upset of the eighth-ranked and previously-undefeated Hawkeyes at Kinnick Stadium. Stanzi was hurt with 11:46 left in the second quarter and Iowa holding a 10-0 lead. He walked off the field under his own power, appearing to favor his right leg, after a sack and a fumble in the end zone. Northwestern (6-4, 3-3 Big Ten) held Iowa without a point the rest of the way and won for the second time in its last three games. The Wildcats also won at Kinnick Stadium for the third straight time. The Hawkeyes (9-1, 5-1) entered the day fourth in the BCS standings, but saw their dreams of a possible national championship dashed with Stanzi on the sideline.
(15) Ohio State 24, (11) Penn State 7
Terrelle Pryor threw for two scores and ran for another, as 15th-ranked Ohio State posted a dominating 24-7 win over 11th-ranked Penn State at Beaver Stadium in a key Big Ten contest. Pryor completed 8-of-17 passes for 125 yards and had no interceptions, adding 50 rushing yards on five carries for the Buckeyes (8-2, 5-1), who have won three in a row and gained an advantage in the conference race. Ohio State is now tied at the top of the conference with Iowa, which lost to Northwestern earlier Saturday for its first conference defeat. OSU and Iowa meet next week in Columbus in a contest that could decide the Big Ten title, as the Buckeyes aim for their fifth consecutive conference championship.
Navy 23, (19) Notre Dame 21
Ricky Dobbs and Vince Murray each reached the century mark in rushing with a touchdown and Navy upset 19th-ranked Notre Dame, 23-21, ending the Irish's bid for entry into a BCS postseason game. Two years ago Navy (7-3) broke a 43-game skid to the Irish with an epic triple-overtime win. This latest victory marks the Midshipmen's first two- game winning streak in South Bend since 1961 and '63. The Midshipmen took advantage of a pair of costly Jimmy Clausen turnovers, a fumble on the final play of the third quarter and an interception at the Navy five early in the fourth. Craig Schaefer sacked Clausen in the end zone for a huge safety with a minute remaining. Murray rushed 14 times for 158 yards, while Dobbs had 31 carries for 102 yards.
