Fantasy Links: Week 14 Lineup Help

11. December 2009  - Published by Dan Clasgens

Here are a couple of my line-up locks for Week 14...

LOCK ‘EM IN
QB Vince Young (TEN vs. STL)
– Young has thrown for 628 yards and two touchdowns over the past two weeks and now he gets a Rams’ defense that gives up 12 points per game to quarterbacks. Add to it Young’s ability to make plays on the ground and the Rams’ losing their best player in the secondary to injury in OJ Otogwe and Young is a solid fantasy option this week.

RB Jamal Charles (KC vs. BUF) – Over his last three games he has 55 touches for 330 total yards while scoring in each contest. Now gets his best match-up yet, the Bills. They are allowing a league-worst 173 rushing yards per game. With Charles being the workhorse he will reap most of the benefits and that’s why I have him No. 11 overall at RB on this week’s cheat sheet. Start him with confidence.

LOCK ‘EM OUT
RB Kevin Smith (DET @BAL)
  – Smith scored for the first time in seven games last week against the Bengals and hasn’t hit the century mark on the ground since Week 3. Now he gets a Ravens’ defense that allowed the fifth fewest fantasy points to RB’s this season. With Daunte Culpepper starting at quarterback it’s in your best interest to leave Smith on the bench.

WR Devin Hester (CHI vs. GB)  – After missing practice today with a calf injury Hester’s status is already in question, but even he does play he’s not recommended. Hester only managed one catch each of the past two weeks and has pulled in just 13 catches for 134 yards since Week 9. Don’t put him anywhere near lineup on Sunday.
