The NFL free agency period began Friday at midnight and there has already been plenty of action.

The Chicago Bears have already made a big splash by signing running back Chester Taylor, tight end Brandon Manumaleuna and now a deal is imminent with the most revered player in the market, defensive end Julius Peppers, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The Bears don’t have any early draft picks and were anxious to make a splash in what is a weak free agent market.
