Favre's Ankle Not A Factor

3. May 2010  - Published by Dan Clasgens

Now that the NFL Draft is behind us and most of the marquee franchise signings have taken place, the media once again goes on full Brett Favre Watch alert.

ESPN’s Ed Werder reported on Friday that the veteran quarterback would “need surgery on his left ankle to play for the Vikings in 2010”. Werder also reports that Favre is “is still conflicted about the decision”.

While he wasn’t about indicate either way whether he’ll play this year or not, Favre did quickly address the concerns over his ankle on his official website over the weekend.

"I don’t believe major surgery on the ankle would be required for me to return in 2010," the 40-year old signal caller said. "I’ve consulted with Dr. (James) Andrews on the phone, and a relatively minor procedure could be done to improve the dexterity of the ankle, and to relieve the pain."

Though he will likely do everything in his power to avoid training camp, I fully expect Favre to return for more attempt at a second title.
