Spice Up Thanksgiving

Looking for a good way to add a little spice to your Thanksgiving feast? Forget about the food, although I certainly love it, how about a family Thanksgiving fantasy draft with three games on and six teams in action there are plenty of players to conduct a mini-fantasy draft.

I recommend a basic scoring system and have 4-6 owners draft a 1 QB, 1-2 RB, 2-3 WR, 1 TE, 1 PK and DEF. It will definitely help make the 12 hours of football interesting and may be a good way to incorporate some family and friends that don’t typically play in fantasy games. Enhance the game by putting a small wager on it like $5 - $10 a head.

Draw randomly for draft order and then reverse it, or have it snake, each round.  You may want to even do it online or via email in advance. You can run such a league and set up pretty quickly at MyFantasyLeague.com, but with so few players and owners it may be just as easily to score by hand.

The NFL has put a great slate of games on tap:

12:30 - Packers at Lions

4:15 - Dolphins at Cowboys

8:20 - Ravens at 49ers
